Breast Cancer
I have chosen to write my webliography about Breast Cancer. Breast cancer is not only the leading type of cancer in women in the United States but has affected me personally. My grandmother was a victim of breast cancer. For this reason, the topic is of great interest to me and any bit of knowledge I can gain about it helps me to be proactive.
I believe that awareness and research are the most vital pieces to fighting breast cancer. Although there are no proven ways to completely prevent breast cancer, doing regular self breast examinations and having the recommended yearly mammograms after age 40 for women of average risk can give the benefit of early detection which leads to early treatment and hopefully remission or cures. The new statement for cancer is “a world with more birthdays” and this global marketing will hopefully help to educate the masses on this horrible disease. The websites that are listed below are wonderful sources of information for everyone, whether they be medically knowledgeable or not.
The sites listed below were chosen because of their ease of use, reputable authors and resources available and current listings of information. Also availability of networking with blogs and links to other valuable information was assessed when choosing the sites listed below.
